Cross Country is set for first conference competition today
BOSTON, Mass. - The Wheelock cross country team will get the first taste of NECC competition today when it travels to New Hampshire for the Daniel Webster College Invitational. The Wildcats finished fourth in the six team competition in 2008. Wheelock is coming off of the first full meet of the season, an eight team field at the Roger Williams Invitational in Bristol, Rhode Island last Saturday. Junior Caitlin Burke (Westborough, MA)also ran her personal best at Pop Crowell in 2008 (25:51) and is hoping to get her time down from last week's mark. Burke ran a 27:23 race last week, followed by Freshman Cara McAuliffe (Nashua, NH), who finished two spots behind Burke (27:40).
Maria Sideri, Molly Thomas, and Kelly Meehan will be competing in their second meet for the Wildcats today, while Elizabeth Connolly, Sarah Negron, and Kailah Simon are running in their first competition.
