Cross country award winners named
Boston, Mass. - Head coach Bryan Mahoney handed out awards to three student-athletes Sunday night. Shannon Ahearn received the Coach's Award, Kate Needham received the Wildcat Award, and Molly Thomas (not pictured) was named the Most Improved Player.

Wheelock athletes volunteer at Boston Marathon
Boston, Mass. - Several Wheelock athletes spent their Patriot's Day helping out with the Boston Marathon. Members of the team spent much of their time handing out drinks the runners as they crossed the finish line.

Needham leading the way for Wheelock Cross Country
Boston, Mass. When Kate Needham joined the brand new Wheelock Cross Country team in August, she was thinking less about competition and more about recreation. The North Conway native is involved in a number of activities at Wheelock, as a resident assistant, vice president of the social science honor society, and a member of the Wildcats Leadership program. Given her busy schedule, cross country seemed like a great way to relieve stress.

Needham breaks top ten at NECC
Jamaica Plain, MA - Kate Needham (North Conway, NH) finished in the top ten and Wheelock College took sixth overall Sunday in the first ever New England Collegiate Conference Cross Country Championships at Franklin Park.

Cross Country getting stronger, prepare for championships
Jamaica Plain, MA - Senior Alycia Laudani (Dedham, MA) cut over a minute off of her time and captain Kate Needham (No. Conway, NH) continued to run strong as Wheelock finished in a tie for tenth in the 16 team field at the Emmanuel College Saints Invitational last Friday at Franklin Park.

Cross country getting faster as season rolls on
Wenham, Mass. - The Cross Country team competed in the Pop Crowell Cross Country tournament over the weekend and the entire team continues to make strides. Caitlin Burke (Westborough, MA) knocked 40 seconds off of her previous time, running a time of 25:51 and finishing second for the Wheelock team.

Wildcats make strides in Blazer invitational; prepare for weekend run
Chicopee, MA - Despite the rainy weather, the race was on at the Elms Blazer Invitational near Elms College on Saturday. The University of New England won the eight team competition, with four runners finishing in the top ten.

Cross country team competes for the first time in school history
Nashua, NH - The Wheelock Cross Country team competed for the first time in school history Friday when the team traveled to Daniel Webster College to compete in the Daniel Webster Invitational. The Wildcats placed fourth in the five team competition with 76 points.
