Barretto has become a well-known figure in Massachusetts soccer circles in recent years, having spent time as a coach and talent evaluator of the U12-U-16 Olympic Development Program for the Massachusetts Youth Soccer Association.  The North Andover resident also coached during the 2010 Passback tour for the United States Soccer Foundation and has helped the sport of soccer grow in the Boston area as mentor in various inner city soccer programs. 

Barretto is an experienced coach, who excels in player development, having coached in the North Andover Soccer Association, while instilling his knowledge as a recreational soccer coach at the U8 level.  He also holds a USSF National D Coaching License and is known for his ability to create team spirit and synergy. 

Prior to stepping into the coaching arena, Barretto starred as a professional player in Mexico as a member of the Salamanca Football Club in the Third Division from 1989-90 and the Club Leon F.C. in the First Division Reserve from 1990-92.  He capped his playing career with five seasons of action for Universidad de Guanajuato in the Amateur State Division from 1992-96.
