Chiesa nets 15 saves in loss
BOSTON, Mass. – Sophomore goalkeeper Allie Chiesa (Medford, Mass.) notched 15 saves, but it wasn't enough as Wheelock fell to Lesley 5-0 in conference play Saturday afternoon. Lesley senior Jodi Fralick (Woburn, Mass.) got the hat trick and sister Jenna Fralick (Woburn, Mass.) netted a goal to help the Lynx stay undefeated in the New England Collegiate Conference. Wheelock was able to keep the potent Lesley offense out of the net for most of the first half, but the younger Fralick finally broke the scoreless tie when the midfielder found the back of the net on a pass from Kelsey Fitzgerald (Upton, Mass.) 37:57 into the game. Wildcat goalkeeper Allie Chiesa (Medford, Mass.) recorded seven saves in the half to keep Wheelock in the game.
But the Lynx exploded in the second half, when the elder Fralick broke lose for all three of her goals. The first score came 27 seconds into the second period on a pass from Kate Ryder (Glastonbury, Conn.). Fralick went on to add her 24th and 25th goals of the season in the next 20 minutes of play to put the score to 4-0. Teammate Courtney Hopkins (Watertown, Mass.) scored her second goal of the season at the 79:48 mark to put the final score at 5-0.
Wheelock will next host Daniel Webster on Wednesday, while Lesley travels to Newbury on Wednesday.
