Wheelock falls to Becker
Leicester, Mass.- Becker College defeated
Wheelock 57-39 in New England Collegiate Conference women's
basketball action.
Despite shooting just under 36% from the floor, Becker went on 12-0
run to start the 2nd half, and never looked back. The Hawks
finished with three players in double figures. Rachel Pinak
(Cheektowaga, NY) scored a game high 18 points and brought down 10
rebounds, to lead Becker to their 7th win of the season. Senior
Beth Pion (Enfield, Conn.) scored 12 points and is now just 7
points shy of 1,400 in her career. Heidi Miller (Sanbornton, NH)
contributed with 11 points. Ciara Lawrence (Costa Mesa, Calif.)
came off the bench to hit a big three pointer, to seal the Wildcats
fate.
Wheelock was led by Joy Holliday (Milford, Mass.) with 11 points.
Sarah Brown (Plainville, Conn.) cleaned up under the net, ripping
down 12 rebounds in a losing effort. Becker improved its record to
7-6 overall and 3-2 in the NECC. Wheelock fell to 1-11 and 1-3 in
the NECC.
