Ordille leads charge for women’s team

Quincy, Mass.- Eastern Nazarene raised their season record to .500 (3-3) on the shoulders of Amanda Remmel's(Allentown, PA)8 for 21 shooting behind the three point line, as the Crusaders went on to a 74-37 non-conference victory over Wheelock College.

Wheelock's Elise Ordille (Waltham, Mass.)opened the games scoring in the second minute of play, but Eastern Nazarene's Amanda Remmel led the Crusaders response as she opened with a three and continued with the deep threat hitting 5 of 13 from downtown, and a total of 18, in the first half. The Crusaders built a 24 point lead, 32-8, that was capped by Christine Tucker's (Antioch, CA) lay up with 7:36 remaining before the break. With the combination of inside and outside play, Remmel from the outside and Tucker's lane penetration, the Crusaders were able to go into the locker room with a 46-16 advantage.

The Wildcats opened the second half with six straight points off of Joy Holliday's (Milford, Mass.) 3 for 3 shooting, but this was as close as they would come as the Crusaders Jessica (Scarborough, ME) Schoppee responded with the first two of nine points in the second half. The Crusaders balanced offense, shooting 38% from the field, kept the Wildcats honest on defense and the height advantage led to a 58-41 edge in rebounding limiting the Wildcats to second chance points.

Leading all scorers' was Crusaders Amanda Remmel with 28 points (8 of 21 from 3 pt range). Two other Crusaders contributed a double-double, Tucker had 15 points and 11 assists while Victoria Sontag (Mont Vernon,NH) followed with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Schoppee finished with 11 points on the night.

Elise Ordille led the Wildcats with 9 points and 7 rebounds as teammate Sharrell Brown (Brooklyn, NY) also pulled down 7 rebounds.

Eastern Nazarene continues their non-conference play as they travel to Framingham State on Thursday, December 4th and Wheelock (0-4) continues their road stretch on the same day against Smith College.
