Women’s team making positive strides

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Wildcat Kerry Casey (Medford, MA) notched her first double-double of the season, but Amanda Hevy hit three of her game high 24 points with 20 seconds remaining to lift the Anna Maria Amcats to a 58-56 win over Wheelock College Monday night.

The loss overshadows a terrific performance by Wheelock led by Casey and Joy Holiday (Milford, MA), who scored 13 points. The Wildcats rallied from deficits of 13 points in the first half and ten in the second to put themselves in a position to win the game.

On Thursday night, Wheelock came out of the gates strong against Pine Manor and led by as many as 12 points in the contest.

Freshman Jessica Battista (Johnston, RI) scored a team-high 13 points and fellow classmate Callahan Moore (Nantucket, MA) scored 11.

The Wildcats will resume play on January 5th when they travel to Emerson for a 7:00 p.m. showdown.
