Mitchell edges Wheelock in final frame
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. A Sara Krolikowski two run homer off the left field foul pole in the top of the seventh inning proved to be the difference in a 6-5 win over Wheelock College in game one of a New England Collegiate Conference double-header Sunday afternoon at Pine Manor College. The Mariners took the second game 11-2 to improve to to 20-10 overall and 12-2 in the NECC. (Above: Amanda Siebert was 2-3 in game two with an RBI and run scored in game one).

Wildcats drop a pair to NECC rival Elms College
CHICOPEE, Mass. Elms College junior pitcher Destinee Meeker (Bantam, Conn.) pitched a two-hit shutout through five innings of game two, and an eight-run third inning in game one helped lift the Blazers to a doubleheader sweep of Wheelock College in Saturday afternoons New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) softball action at Cheryl R. Timely hitting leads Eagles past Wildcats
BOSTON, Mass. The Wheelock softball team collected nine hits in the first game of Tuesdays double-header, but left ten runners on base as the Wildcats fell 11-4 in New England Collegiate Conference play. In game two, Daniel Webster senior Kristina Rieger (Concord, NH) shut out the Wildcats, scattering five hits over five innings while striking out three. Wildcats rally for ten inning win, fall in game two
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. Nicole Perullo (Revere, Mass) nailed a single to center field to drive in Elise Ordile (Waltham, Mass.) in the bottom of the tenth inning to propel the Wheelock softball team to a 6-5 win in the first game of a double-header Saturday afternoon. The Newbury Nighthawks came back in game two however, downing the Wildcats 15-4 behind two hit performances from freshman Sarah Young (Waterloo, NY) and sophomore Ariel Ross (Gales Ferry, Conn.).

Softball team ready to build on last season
BOSTON, Mass. After losing only one starter from the 2009 squad, the Wheelock softball team is looking to build on last years success and make a run at the 2010 New England Collegiate Conference title. The Wildcats had a successful trip to Florida where they competed in the Gene Cusic Softball Classic.
