Zina nabs all-conference honors

Attleboro, Mass. - Sophomore Nicole Zina (Bristol, RI) received New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) honorable mention for her performance during the 2009 softball season.

Zina led the Wildcats on both offense and defense this season, posting the highest batting average (.369) and slugging percentage (.538), while cranking out 24 hits, including eight doubles, and her first career home run. The thirdbaseman showed a sharp eye at the plate, drawing a team leading 19 walks while scoring 16 runs. On defense, Zina committed only six errors in 27 games, including 25 starts at the hot corner and a pair of games on the mound.
