Chang, Venning, win in doubles, Wildcats fall to Newbury

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Wheelock sophomore Wilson Chang and freshman Bobby Venning won the first doubles competition of the season, but it wasn't quite enough as the Wildcats fell to Newbury 6-1 Tuesday afternoon in conference play.

Chang also battled tough in number one singles competition, taking the second match to a tie-breaker before eventually falling to Nick Sehovich 6-4 and 7-6 in the best of the three match.

In number two singles, Matthew O'Donnell defeated Wheelock's Venning 6-0 and 6-1. In number three singles, Ryan Sevieri defeated Wildcat Anya Pagala while junior Johanna Crowley battled tough before falling to Newbury's Ross Kaye 6-4, 6-3.

In number two doubles, Sevieri and Jonathan DiNuzzo defeated Wheelock's Pagala and Crowley 8-1.
