      <title>Men's soccer receives sportsmanship award</title>

      <description>ATTLEBORO, Mass. - The Wheelock men's soccer team, led by head coach Sercan Fenerci, were honored as the 2009 NECC Team Sportsmanship Award recipients. Goalkeeper Victor Kashouh (Providence, RI) received All-Conference honorable mention for his performance this season. In his first season playing the sport, Kashouh led the conference in saves, with 164 in 11 games, averaging almost 15 per contest. The sophomore made history in his first game, when he recorded 29 saves against Suffolk University which ties him for 15th all-time in NCAA Division III men's soccer.</description>

Though the Wildcats fell 9-0 to Suffolk University in the first men's soccer game in school history, Kashouh recorded 29 saves; the most by a goalkeeper in NCAA Division III men's soccer since 2007 and tied for 15th in the history of Division III men's soccer.</description>

Coach Fenerci brings to this position a life-long love of soccer and a familiarity with the commitment required to get a new program off the ground, having spent the past two years at Wheelock as an assistant to men's basketball head coach John Preziosa. The men's basketball team, established at Wheelock in 2007, won their first playoff game in team history during the 2008-2009 season, and Coach Fenerci played a crucial role in the team's success.</description>
