Sercan Fenerci begins his second season at the helm of the Wheelock men's soccer team, which began play in 2009.

Fenerci brings to the department a life-long love of soccer and a familiarity with the commitment required to get a new program off the ground, having spent the past three years at Wheelock as an assistant men's basketball coach. That program, established in 2007, recorded its postseason win during the 2008-09 season.

Prior to arriving at Wheelock, Fenerci worked most recently as an assistant soccer coach at Halit Armay High School in his native Istanbul, Turkey. While there, the team won the regional championship and finished in the national elite eight.

Fenerci received his bachelor's degree of business administration in management information systems from Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas. He played 50 games during a three-year basketball career for the Division II Rams.
