Men's soccer begins second season with setback at local foe Regis
WESTON, MA - The Wheelock College men's soccer team opened their second collegiate season on Saturday, suffering a 3-0 setback at Regis College. The Pride is now 2-0.
Junior netminder Victor Kashouh (Providence, RI/Classical) made seven stops for the visitors, including two within 30 seconds of one another near the sixth minute of play to keep the teams in a scoreless deadlock.
Junior Josh Fidalgo (Dorchester, MA/Boston College) and freshmen Angel Aguilar (Silver Spring, MD/James Hubert Blake) and Chris Millington (Huntington, NY/St. Anthony's) tallied for Regis, while two keepers combined on three saves in split action. Aguilar's eight-minute marker proved to be the winner, and Fidalgo made it 2-0 at 30:42 before Millington completed the scoring in the 54th minute.
Wheelock turns around for a Labor Day contest on Monday against visiting Benedictine (Ill.) University. Action begins at Pine Manor College at 11 a.m.
