Wildcats continue searching for first win

Leicester, Mass.- Derek King (Marshfield, Mass) scored a first half hat trick, as Becker College defeated Wheelock College 6-0 in men's soccer action Monday night. The Wildcats played strong in the second half, allowing only one goal in the last 45 minutes of play.  (Right: Thierry Alexandre battles for the ball.)

Becker's Ryan Singh (Elmont, NY) got the scoring attack started 12:58 into the game with his third goal of the season. Derek King followed less than a minute later with his first goal of the season, on an assist from Singh. The combination for Singh to King connected 3:41 later, making the score 3-0. Snjezan Telebak (Chicago, IL) made the score 4-0, when he ripped a shot past the drive of Wheelock goalkeeper Victor Kashouh (Providence, RI).

Kashouh was again tough in goal for the Wildcats, who fell to 0-5 on the season with the loss. Wheelock's Thierry Alexandre (Medford, MA) held the lone shot on goal, but wasn't able to sneak it past Becker goal keeper Aaron Fill (Ladner, BC), who recorded his first shutout on the season.

Derek King complete the hat trick at 31:34, when he rebound a Matheaus Souza (Framingham, Mass) shot, ripping it home for the 5-0 Becker advantage. Alain Westover (Canaan, VT) scored the only goal of the second half, on pass from Evan Sturman (Morrisville, VT), making the final score 6-0.
