Dan Lee was hired in late 2009 to be the first head coach of the Wheelock men's lacrosse program, which began play in 2011.

During the Wildcats' inaugural season, Lee guided the squad, which was comprised greatly of newcomers to the sport, through a 10-game schedule. In the team's season finale, Wheelock posted its strongest showing of the spring, a narrow 9-6 loss at Rivier College. Lee's starting goalkeeper finished fourth in Division III in saves per game.

Lee earned a master's degree in sport management from the University of Connecticut in the spring of 2009, as he was a graduate assistant with the football and men's basketball teams.

Lee is well-versed in lacrosse in many different capacities, both as an athlete at Division I College of the Holy Cross and, more recently, as an operations intern for Major League Lacrosse (MLL). At Holy Cross, Lee was named the team's most valuable player and rookie of the year as a freshman in 1998. He led the squad with 32 goals and 43 points that season, scoring on 50.1 percent of his shots, before tying for the team's scoring lead as a sophomore with 23 markers and collecting 33 points.

A sports director for an after-school program in the Sudbury Public Schools, Lee currently resides in Maynard with his wife, Beth.
