A veteran college and youth coach, Chris Demarest heads into his second season as an assistant coach with Wheelock in 2012.

Prior to joining the Wildcat staff, Demarest served as an assistant coach at Mendham (N.J.) Township Middle School from 2008 to 2010. He began as a graduate assistant at his alma mater, Centenary (N.J.) College, between 2002 and 2004 while simultaneously heading the Roxbury (N.J.) High School varsity program. From 2003 to 2007, Demarest also coached Jersey Thunder Lacrosse club teams at tournaments and, in 2007, was an assistant coach for the Morristown (N.J.) High School varsity girls' squad.

Demarest also gained camp experience from 2002 to 2005 at such institutions as Army, Navy, Princeton University and Rutgers University, as well as working the Four Star Lacrosse recruiting and skills camp and the Top 205 recruiting camp.

A former defenseman at Centenary, Demarest graduated in 2002 with a degree in business administration. As a senior, he helped the Cyclones go 11-4 while qualifying for their first Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Tournament. Demarest served as an adjunct faculty member at Centenary between 2004 and 2010 and is currently a financial adviser.
