Wheelock falls to Gordon, Fighting Scots have four in double digits

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Wheelock's Eric Rice (Woburn, MA) led all scores with 20 points and all rebounds with nine, but was the only Wildcat in double digits, as Wheelock fell to Gordon 72-53 in front of a packed crowd Thursday night.

Gordon had four players in double-digits with Aaron Trigg (Overland Park, KS) scoring a team-high 18 points including 13 in the second half. The lead changed six times in the first half, but Gordon turned Wheelock turnovers into 11 points and went on a 9-2 run to give themselves an 11 point lead heading into the locker room.

Wheelock went on a 12-3 run halfway through the second half to bring themselves within seven points, highlighted by the hot hand of Rice, who scored five points. That's as close as the Wildcats would get however, as the Fighting Scots continued to break the press and add to the lead.

Greg Walker (Uxbridge, MA) had 17 points for Gordon while Brady Bajema (Whitinsville, MA) and Benjamin Gaskill (Columbus, OH) had 14 and ten points, respectively. Bajema led the Fighting Scots with eight assists. Gaskill and Walter were the leading rebounders, grabbing seven boards each.

The win improves Gordon's record to 7-1, while Wheelock falls to 2-5 on the year.
