Robbins selected for New England All-Star Game
BABSON PARK, Mass.- Senior Wheelock College basketball star Sherard Robbins (Malden, Mass.) has been selected by the the New England Basketball Coaches Association (NEBCA) to participate in their annual Division III Senior All-Star Game this Sunday, April 18, at Babson College, with all proceeds benefitting the Coaches vs. Cancer campaign.

Wheelock falls in final minute in NECC semi-finals
Leicester, Mass.- The Wheelock men's basketball team came within 50 seconds of advancing to the New England Collegiate Conference Championship game, but a four free-throws in the last minute of play helped the Elms Blazers secure the 66-62 win to advance to tomorrow's finale against Becker College.

Preview of semi-final game against Elms College
BOSTON, Mass. – With a convincing 95-67 win over Daniel Webster College in the New England Collegiate College Quarterfinals the Wheelock men’s basketball team advances to the conference semi-finals for the second year in a row. Last season the Wildcats defeated Mitchell College in the quarter-finals, only to fall to eventual tournament champions Elms College in the second round of the playoffs. Friday night, head coach John Preziosa’s team will have another shot at the Blazers.

Wheelock routs Daniel Webster, advances to semis
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – After splitting the season series in games that were decided by a total of six points, Tuesday night’s New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) quarterfinal matchup between number three Wheelock College and number six Daniel Webster promised to be a nail-biter. But Wheelock shot over fifty percent from the field and had two players with over 20 points en route to a 95-67 win over the Eagles in front of a packed house at Pine Manor College.

Wildcats to host Daniel Webster Tuesday night
BOSTON, Mass. - The Wheelock Wildcat men's basketball team has secured the #3 seed for the 2009-2010 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Men’s Basketball Championship, which begins with quarterfinal matchups on campus sites beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, February 23. Wheelock (15-10, 8-6) will host Daniel Webster College (9-15, 5-9) at 7:00 pm at Pine Manor College in Chestnut Hill. The winner will travel to Becker College on Friday to play against Elms College in the semi-finals.

Robbins leads Wildcats on senior night
BOSTON, Mass. – Senior Sherard Robbins (Malden, Mass.)scored a team-high 20 points and three other Wildcats hit double figures as the Wheelock men’s basketball team defeated Newbury College 88-64 Wednesday night at Simmons College. Freshman Chris Torres (Brockton, Mass.) led the Nighthawks with 20 points while fellow Freshman Timothy Young (Brockton, Mass.) hit 4 three pointers in scoring 17 points.

Wildcats fall to SVC in conference action
BENNINGTON, Vt. – The Southern Vermont College men’s basketball team hosted New England Collegiate Conference foe the Wheelock College Wildcats winning 78-75 Thursday night in the Field House. Southern Vermont fended off a Wildcat rally that cut a 13 point SVC lead down to one point at the break.

Wheelock edges Lesley 61-58 in NECC thriller
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Victor Kashouh (Providence, RI) tipped in a missed shot by Max Kaim (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) with four seconds remaining to lead the Wheelock men's basketball team to a 61-58 win over Lesley University Saturday night in New England Collegiate Conference action.

Framingham rallies for win over Wildcats
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Framingham State rallied from a ten point deficit in the second half to defeat the Wheelock Wildcats 58-52 Thursday night at Pine Manor College. Senior Darius Yarrell (Brockton, Mass.) led the Rams with 15 points while Junior Brendan Carter (South Boston, Mass.) recorded four of the Rams ten blocks on defense and grabbed a team-high ten boards. Wheelock junior Dan Main (Hopedale, Mass.) was 11-12 from the free throw line on his way to a game-high 18 points for head coach John Preziosa’s team.

Hanson shoots Eagles past Wildcats
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – There were few spots on the court where Daniel Webster guard Chris Hanson (Salem, Mass.) couldn’t make a shot, as the junior’s 28 points led the Eagles to a 75-71 win over Wheelock College in New England Collegiate Conference action. Hanson was 7-14 from behind the arc and 9-16 from the floor to match Wheelock senior forward Sherard Robbins (Malden, Mass.) who was 11-15 for 28 points as well.

Robbins named NECC Player of the Week
PLAYER OF THE WEEK — Wheelock College senior forward Sherard Robbins (Malden, Mass.) sparked the Wildcats to a 2-0 week, defeating Lesley 65-55 and Elms 87-82 in overtime action. Robbins who comes off last week’s 1,000 point milestone nailed two double-double performances including 29 points and 15 rebounds in a barn burner against the Blazers. He averaged 25.5 points, 14.5 rebounds, 0.5 assists, 2.0 blocks and 0.5 steals. For the week, Robbins shot 56% (20-for-36) from the field and 73% (11-for-15) from the free-throw line.

Wildcats upset Blazers in over-time
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Wheelock men’s basketball team battled back from a 13 point second half deficit to defeat second place Elms College 87-82 in overtime Saturday afternoon in front of 142 fans at Pine Manor College. Senior Sherard Robbins (Malden, Mass.) scored a game-high 29 points and 15 rebounds as the Wildcats improved to 12-6 on the season and 5-3 in the New England Collegiate Conference. The loss drops Elms to 13-6 on the season and 6-2 in the NECC.

Wildcats survive late Lesley surge for win
CHESNTUT HILL, Mass. - The Wheelock College men’s basketball team survived a late second half surge to pull out the win over NECC rival Lesley University 65-55 Thursday night at Pine Manor College. The Wildcats looked to be cruising to their third win in a row, leading by 27 points with 5:52 remaining in regulation, but the Lynx, led by Senior captain Alexander Green III (Baton Rouge, La.)went on a 21-4 run to set the final score. Green scored 12 of his team-high 18 points during the run, as well as notching two steals and a three assists.

Wheelock races past Mitchell, 85-61
NEW LONDON, Conn. – Sophomore Max Kaim (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) four Wildcats in double figures with 17 points as Wheelock College defeated Mitchell College 85-61 Saturday afternoon at the Yarnell Athletic Center. Kaim shot 8-9 from the field and added five steals. Wheelock (10-6 overall, 3-3 NECC) shot 55 percent in the game and held a 41-35 advantage on the glass. (Above: Wheelock sophomore Max Kaim).

Robbins hits 1,000 as Wildcats down Mountaineers
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Sophomore Kyle Pierce (Burlington, Mass.) found a wide-open Eric Rice (Woburn, Mass.) for a two-foot jumper with 13 seconds remaining to propel Wheelock College to a dramatic 64-62 win over Southern Vermont College in front of a packed house Saturday afternoon at Pine Manor College.

Becker uses second chance points to defeat Wildcats
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Four players scored in double-digits for the Wheelock College men’s basketball team, but the Becker College Hawks dominated the boards in handing the Wildcats their first conference loss, 73-64 at Pine Manor College Tuesday night. The win improves Becker’s record to 6-7 overall and 2-0 in the New England Collegiate Conference while Wheelock falls to 8-4 overall and 1-1 in the NECC. Wheelock defeats Mitchell 98-75 for first NECC win
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Three players scored over 20 points as the Wheelock Wildcats men’s basketball team defeated Mitchell College 98-75 Saturday afternoon in their first New England Collegiate Conference game of the season. Dan Main (Hopedale, Mass.) scored 22 points, Sherard Robbins knocked in 21, and Max Kaim (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) added 20 as the Wildcats had their largest offensive output of the season.

Kaim drops 25 in Wildcat loss
PAXTON, Mass. – The Wheelock men’s basketball team rallied from a 16 point deficit Thursday night, but it wasn’t enough as the Wildcats fell to Anna Maria College 81-78 at the Fuller Activities Center. The AMCATS remain unbeaten at home and improve their overall record to 5-6, while the Wildcats drop to 7-3.

Wheelock Locks Down Eastern Nazarene, 83-59.
Quincy, Mass.- The Wheelock men’s basketball team began 2010 where they left off in 2009, defeating Eastern Nazarene College 83-59 for their third straight victory on the season. The win improves the Wildcats record to 7-2 while the Lions fall to 0-10 on the season.

Main's sharp shooting leads Wildcats to win
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Junior captain Dan Main (Hopedale, Mass.) scored 20 points and Sherard Robbins (Malden, Mass.) grabbed a game-high 14 boards to the lead the Wheelock College Wildcats to a dramatic 72-66 win over Mount Ida College in front of a packed house at Pine Manor College. CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Senior Sherard Robbins (Malden, Mass.) scored a game-high 26 points while grabbing 16 rebounds to lead the Wheelock College Wildcats to a convincing 72-57 win over Endicott College Saturday afternoon. Robbins was 9-16 from the floor and a perfect 8-8 from the free-throw line as Wheelock improved to 5-2 on the season while Endicott fell to 3-6. Sophomore Max Kaim (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) and junior Dan Main were also in double-digits for head coach John Preziosa, with 17 and ten points, respectively.

WENHAM, Mass.. -- Gordon broke a tie game at halftime, pulling away in the second half for a 60-50 win over the Wheelock College Wildcats at the Bennett Center. Sophomores Max Kaim (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) and Eric Rice (Woburn, Mass.) led the Wildcats with 11 points each, while senior Sherard Robbins (Malden, Mass.) pulled in 11 boards as Wheelock fell to 4-2 on the season. Dinuzzo has career night despite loss to Curry
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Wheelock men’s basketball team winning streak came to an abrupt halt Thursday night as the Wildcats fell to the Curry Colonels 74-70 in the final minute of play in front of a packed crowd for the home opener. Curry had four players in double-digits, led by junior Rodney Bennett (Mattapan, Mass.), who scored 20 points to lead all scores on the night. Wildcats take Hampton Inn Classic title
NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – In a Hampton Inn Classic full of surprises, a third year program pulled the biggest surprise of all. The Wheelock Wildcats hoisted the men’s basketball tournament championship trophy following a 68-63 victory over the University of New England Nor’easters at the Tripp Athletic Center Saturday afternoon.

Robbins named NECC Player of the week
BOSTON, Mass. — Wheelock College senior center Sherard Robbins (Malden, Mass.) was a scoring force for the Wildcats, leading his team to win the 2009 Hampton Inn Classic held at UMass Dartmouth after defeating Springfield 61-56 and UNE 68-63.

BOSTON, Mass. – Senior forward Sherard Robbins (Malden, Mass.) connected on 14 of 19 shots for a game-high 29 points, while junior guard Dan Main (Hopedale, Mass.) went 8-for-12 from the floor for 21 points as the Wheelock men’s basketball team opened the 2009-2010 season with a 79-63 win over Wentworth in a non-league contest played at Tansey Gymnasium.

BOSTON, Mass. – After posting a 10-17 record and winning a playoff game in only their second season of play, the Wheelock men’s basketball team is looking to make a run at the 2010 New England Collegiate Conference Championship.
