In addition, a $1000 worth of gifts, donations, and discounts helped to provide water, Gatorade, snacks, and food for the event as well as a gift of 200 event t-shirts, donated by a family member of the field hockey team.

Field Hockey sponsors Walk 4 Haiti At this past January 2010 All-Student Athlete meeting, the Wheelock College student-athletes en masse, voted to take forward the Wildcats Walk For Haiti. The idea came out of a brainstorming session of the newly re-elected/appointed field hockey captains for Fall 2010. Since then, two appointed captains have engaged the team to brainstorm, create design, research, and make calls to create the framework for this event.

Hawks top Wildcats in a battle of tough defense BOSTON, Mass. – Defense was the name of the game Tuesday night when Becker College traveled to Wheelock College’s home turf. It was the Hawks who prevailed 2-1 however, in a battle of the top two teams in the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC). Becker remains unbeaten in conference play at 6-0, while Wheelock fell to 3-2, both losses coming at the hands of the Hawks.

Young guns lead the way in Wildcats win BOSTON, Mass. – A trio of freshman provided the offensive power for the Wildcats Tuesday night as Wheelock defeated Daniel Webster College 3-1 in New England Collegiate College action. Race named NECC Player of the Week ATTLEBORO, Mass.--Wheelock College junior goalkeeper Meredith Race (Marion, Mass.) opened the 2009 campaign with the Wildcats going 0-2 on the week. Despite the two losses, Race prevented the games from becoming a scorefest, notching 30 saves in the two contests. Race allowed only two goals scored against Western Connecticut State while picking up 15 saves in their season opener.

The win leaves Wheelock with a 4-4 record in the NECC, while Bay Path drops to 0-8 in their inaugural season of play.

QUESTION: Last season, Wheelock did not field a men's soccer team. I was wondering what the program was looking like for this season?

ANSWER: Great question. While we were unable to put together a roster last year, this year's team features 18 new players including 16 rookie recruits, second year head coach Chambi Sey, and a full 15 game schedule for 2014. The Wildcats open their season on Saturday August 30th at the Western New England Soccer City Shootout against Rhode Island College with a 2:30 p.m. kickoff.
