Rachael Johnson comes to Wheelock after spending three seasons as the Assistant Coach for Division II Bentley College, where she helped guide the Falcons to a pair of NCAA tournament appearances, including a spot in the final four in 2008.  Bentley compiled a 40-23 record during Johnson’s time on the sideline, while capturing a pair of NE-10 Conference crowns.

Prior to her success in the coaching ranks, Johnson starred at Lasell College for four seasons, while earning North Atlantic Conference Rookie of the Year honors in 2004. A three-year Captain, Johnson continued her dominance for the Lasers, garnering All-Conference accolades each season, including First Team recognition as a junior.  In each of her final two campaigns, the Litchfield, Connecticut native was named to the NAC All-Academic team as well.  

Johnson has shared her field hockey knowledge as Director of the Northwest Corner Field Hockey Camp for four years, while also serving as a counselor at the White Mountain Field Hockey Camp. 

Her coaching experience isn’t limited to field hockey with head coaching stints for the Litchfield High School Varsity and Hopkinton eighth grade softball squads, while also serving as an Assistant Coach for the Litchfield High School junior varsity girls’ basketball team.

Johnson is a 2008 Cum Laude graduate of Lasell College with a degree in sports management and a minor in coaching.
