Field hockey team inspires good with Walk 4 Haiti
BOSTON, Mass. – The Wheelock College field hockey team, together with the athletic department, organized and sponsored the first Wildcat Walk 4 Haiti 5K, raising close to $1,000 for the American Red Cross: Haiti Relief & Development Fund. In addition, a $1000 worth of gifts, donations, and discounts helped to provide water, Gatorade, snacks, and food for the event as well as a gift of 200 event t-shirts, donated by a family member of the field hockey team.

Field Hockey sponsors Walk 4 Haiti
At this past January 2010 All-Student Athlete meeting, the Wheelock College student-athletes en masse, voted to take forward the Wildcats Walk For Haiti. The idea came out of a brainstorming session of the newly re-elected/appointed field hockey captains for Fall 2010. Since then, two appointed captains have engaged the team to brainstorm, create design, research, and make calls to create the framework for this event.

Robohms love of field hockey goes beyond the field
BOSTON, Mass. Rachel Robohm played a key role in the Wheelock Wildcat field hockey teams playoff run this fall, finishing in the top ten in the New England Collegiate Conference in scoring and helping the Wildcats to a second place finish in the NECC.

Koh takes coach of the year honors as field hockey wraps up historic season
ATTLEBORO, Mass. Wheelock College was well-represented on the 2009 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Field Hockey All-Conference Team, announced by Commissioner Del Malloy. In addition to the All-NECC honors, four separate major individual award winners and the team sportsmanship award were also voted upon and selected. Wildcats fall in overtime in NECC Final
LEICEISTER, Mass.- The Wheelock field hockey team jumped out to a 2-0 lead in Saturdays New England Collegiate Conference Championship game, but Becker College rallied for a 3-2 win in sudden death overtime. It was Beckers NECC title in the last two years.

NECC championship preview
BOSTON, Mass. The Wheelock field hockey team will battle for their first conference championship tomorrow afternoon when the team travels to Leicester, Mass. to take on Becker College. Its been ten years since a field hockey team competed for a championship; in 1999 the Wildcats were runners up when members of the North Atlantic Conference.

Wildcats advance to conference championship
BOSTON, Mass. Junior Kara Widdison (Greenfield, Mass.) scored the game winning goal while lying on her stomach in the 82nd minute of play to lift Wheelock College to a thrilling 4-3 overtime victory over Daniel Webster College in the semi-final round of the New England Collegiate Conference playoffs Tuesday night at Winsor Field. With the win, Wheelock advances to Saturday afternoons championship match-up with Becker College, who defeated Elms College 4-0 on Tuesday evening. Field hockey to host Daniel Webster Tuesday
ATTLEBORO, Mass.-The 2008 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) champions, Becker College has claimed the top seed for the 2009 New England Collegiate Conference Field Hockey Championship, which begins with semifinal matchups on campus sites Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. The Hawks (11-8 overall) earned the top spot in the upcoming NECC tournament after posting a perfect 8-0 conference record for the second straight season.

Field hockey spreads out offense, defeats Bay path
BOSTON, Mass. The Wheelock Wildcat field hockey team spread out the offense with six different players netting goals in a 6-0 victory over Bay Path College on Saturday afternoon in conference play. The win sets up Tuesday evenings New England Collegiate Conference semi-final, as number two Wheelock hosts number four Elms College at 6:00 pm at Winsor Field in Boston. Wildcats edge Eagles in defensive battle
NASHUA, NH Freshman Rachel Robohms (North Easton, Mass.) goal with 4:50 remaining in the first half stood up as the eventual game winner as Wheelock edged host Daniel Webster, 1-0 in a NECC field hockey matchup Saturday at Harvey Woods Field. Hawks top Wildcats in a battle of tough defense
BOSTON, Mass. Defense was the name of the game Tuesday night when Becker College traveled to Wheelock Colleges home turf. It was the Hawks who prevailed 2-1 however, in a battle of the top two teams in the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC). Becker remains unbeaten in conference play at 6-0, while Wheelock fell to 3-2, both losses coming at the hands of the Hawks.

BOSTON, Mass. - Saturday's field hockey game against Elm's College has been postponed. The game will now be played next Thursday, October 8th at 7:00 pm at Winsor Field in Boston.

Young guns lead the way in Wildcats win
BOSTON, Mass. A trio of freshman provided the offensive power for the Wildcats Tuesday night as Wheelock defeated Daniel Webster College 3-1 in New England Collegiate College action. The win is Wheelocks second in conference play and improves the Wildcats to 2-1 in the NECC. The loss was only the second in seven games for the Eagles, who fall to 5-2 overall and 3-2 in the conference. (Above: Taylor Rogers).

Race named NECC Player of the Week
ATTLEBORO, Mass.--Wheelock College junior goalkeeper Meredith Race (Marion, Mass.) opened the 2009 campaign with the Wildcats going 0-2 on the week. Despite the two losses, Race prevented the games from becoming a scorefest, notching 30 saves in the two contests. Race allowed only two goals scored against Western Connecticut State while picking up 15 saves in their season opener.

Wildcats fall to Framingham State in road opener
BOSTON, Mass. - The Wheelock Wildcat field hockey team received another strong performance from Junior goalie Meredith Race (Marion, MA), but fell 9-0 to Framingham State College Saturday afternoon. Framingham was led by senior forward Kali Barrett (North Attleboro, MA) who netted two goals and two assists for the Rams. Wildcats come out strong, fall in season opener
BOSTON, Mass. Wheelock goalie Meredith Race (Marion, MA) recorded 15 saves and the defense battled tough, but it wasnt enough as the Wildcats fell 2-0 to Western Connecticut State University in front of a large crowd Wednesday night. Sophomore Melissa Berardi (Brookfield, CT) and junior Stephanie Szafran (Killingworth, CT) each scored a goal to lead the Colonials to the victory and a 1-0 record to start the season. Wheelock falls to 0-1.

Field hockey kicks off season tonight at home
BOSTON The fall sports season will kick off tonight when the Wheelock field hockey team plays host to Western Connecticut State with a 7:00 face-off at Winsor Field. Junior Julie Kilcoyne (pictured above), is one of three returning tri-captains looking to lead the Wildcats to a New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) championship in 2009.
