Boston University graduate Steube joins athletic training staff

BOSTON, MA - Wheelock College has hired Kelsey Steube as its assistant athletic trainer, Head Athletic Trainer Jayson Hill announced on Tuesday. As an undergraduate at nearby Boston University, from which she graduated in May, Steube gained a vast amount of experience working with college and high school teams.

"My best experiences in athletic training have been at the college level, and I'm looking forward to being part of a rapidly growing athletic department and continuing to grow as a professional," said Steube, who majored in athletic training at BU and is currently pursuing her master's degree in exercise science and health promotion from California University of Pennsylvania. "I'm grateful for being given an opportunity to begin my career at Wheelock."

As an undergraduate, Steube gained experience working with teams at Bentley University, Boston University, East Boston High School, Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Milton Academy. A member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA), Steube has volunteered on the medical staff at the Boston Marathon and the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk.

"Our approaches to student-athlete treatment complement each other well and provide more options for care," said Hill. "Kelsey has a great deal of personal and professional maturity, having gained a lot of experience at different levels of college athletics. With Wheelock's athletic offerings expanding to 11 sports this year, and in particular men's and women's lacrosse starting in the spring, Kelsey's addition will allow us to staff two athletic trainers who have familiarity and a rapport with the student-athletes."
