Eight Wheelock athletes named to fall academic all conference list
Boston, Mass. - A total of eight Wheelock
students were named to the New England Collegiate Conference
Academic All Conference announced by commissioner Del Malloy on
Friday. Students were named for their performance during the Fall
2008 semester.
To be eligible for NECC Academic All-Conference, a student-athlete
must possess a minimum grade point average of 3.40 on a scale of
4.00 and must be a junior or higher in class standings.
Student-athletes who competed in men's and women's cross country,
field hockey, men's and women's soccer, women's tennis, and women's
volleyball were eligible for the fall NECC Academic
All-Conference.
The Wildcats represented in each of the three fall sports, with
Seniors Shannon Ahearn (Hyannis, MA), Kate Needham (North Conway,
NH), and Junior Mayghen Elliot (Alton, NH) earning honors for cross
country.
In women's soccer, Seniors Alana Dias (Swansea, MA), Leah Spector
(Madison, CT) took home honors, along with Junior Amanda Siebert
(Salem, CT).
Seniors Jill Chaffee (Bridgewater, MA) and Kim Ganley (East
Andover, NH) represented the field hockey team.
