Facility Facts: While not home to any Wheelock Athletics team, the Holmes Sports Center is available for use by all Wheelock students and employees with a valid ID. The facility provides state-of-the-art weight training and cardiovascular equipment, while an indoor running track, a hardwood basketball court, a swimming pool, and racquetball and squash courts are also housed in the building. |
History: The 60,000-square-foot William J. Holmes Sports and Fitness Center opened in 1989. Located at Simmons College, and the former home of Wheelock women's basketball and women's swimming & diving, the facility was constructed for $10 million. |
