Black will work with the Wheelock student-athletes on their diet, while also educating them on the benefits of nutrition as it relates to their athletic performance. A former student-athlete herself, who was a four-year track and field performer for University of Florida, Black has a wealth of experience.
Black currently serves as a part-time clinical dietitian at Radius Specialty Hospital, where she assesses the nutrition status of newly admitted patients and plans and implements nutrition care for all patients. She also educates patients on a variety of health and nutrition topics in addition to leading weekly fitness classes.
Black has gained experience at Plus One Management, Inc. as a contract dietitian and interned at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center as well.
She is currently a registered dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration, a licensed dietitian/nutritionist by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Division of Professional Licensure, a certified personal trainer by the National Academy of Sports Medicine and is Serv Safe certified by the National Restaurant Association. Black also belongs to the American and Massachusetts Dietetic Associations and is currently pursuing a masters degree in public health with a concentration in social and behavioral sciences.
