BOSTON, Mass. - Sherard Robbins averaged 18.3 points per game last week as the 6'5" Senior from Malden, Mass. led the Wildcat men's basketball team to a 3-0 start, including the Hampton Inn Classic Championship at UMass Dartmouth.
Robbins got off to a fast start in the opening game of the season when he netted 29 points in a 79-63 win over Wentworth College. On Friday night, was 6-18 from the field for 12 points and seven boards as Wheelock upset the favorite Springfield College in game one of the Hampton Inn Classic.
The center was named the tournament MVP for his efforts, as the Wildcats defeated the University of New England 68-63 for the title. Robbins was one of five players in double-digits for Wheelock, scoring 14 points and grabbing seven rebounds.
