Meredith Race, field hockey

Senior Meredith Race (Marion, MA/Old Rochester Regional) continued her stellar play in net for the field hockey team, allowing only one goal - to the nation's second-leader scorer - while making 15 saves in 70 minutes of action against Daniel Webster College and Clark University. After entering the game at halftime versus New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) regular-season champion Daniel Webster, Race posted a shutout second half and seven saves before yielding only one marker in the opening stanza against the Cougars, who have the 18th-best scoring offense in Division III, while turning in eight stops. In her last nine appearances, she has allowed as many as two goals only once.
