Maria Sideri, women's cross country

Junior Maria Sideri (North Andover, MA/North Andover) is averaging clocking in at 23:11 on the same 5K courses where she ran 27:26 just a year ago, shaving off an average of 4:14. Already this year Sideri has cut more than four minutes off her 2009 times at three meets, including 5:58 at the Roger Williams University Invitational on Sept. 11 during a 23:47 showing. She has been the first runner from her team to finish each of the past three races, including when she took third overall on Sept. 17 at the Eagle Invitational during Wheelock's first meet victory since the program was reestablished in 2008. Sideri has set a personal best at each of the past four races.
