Year: I'm a sophomore student. I just transferred in last semester. Where did you transfer from? Middlesex Community College.
Major: Early Childhood Education and Developmental
Psychology. Why did you choose that as your
major? Because I love working with kids and that's
what I wanted to do for a long time. Plus, I thought that the
developmental psychology major would help as well.
What do you want to do for a career? I want
to become a teacher. What grade or
level? Right now, I'm just trying to decide whether
I want to go into pre-school, kindergarten or first or second
grade.
Nickname: Nothing unusual. Some call me Pat, but everyone usually calls me Patrick.
What do you like most about Wheelock? All the friends here that I've made. The fact that it's a really nice, tight-knit community.
Where is your favorite place on campus? It's hard to say, but my favorite place would have to be CCSR. Why do you like CCSR? Very nice building, I like the couches in the lobby. I like every building at Wheelock, pretty much.
What is your favorite sports team? I don't know. I don't really follow too many sports, but I like all the Boston teams. Boston Red Sox, Bruins and Celtics. The Patriots, of course. I'm happy whenever they win big.
Who is your favorite athlete? That would be hard to say, but hmmm...Current or...Whatever you want. One of them would have to be Curt Schilling. Why Curt Schilling? He seems to be a very decent guy. Not only has he been a good player. He's a very good guy. I don't feel like I ever see too much egoism from him like I've seen in other players.
What is something that most people don’t know about
you? Let's see. What don't most people know about
me? Let's see. Probably, the fact that I'm a very big
expert skier. You are? Yes.
Wow! In fact, I'm going this weekend.
Where are you going? Up in New
Hampshire. Where in New Hampshire?
Loon Mountain. It's for a Holland family ski weekend.
How long have you been skiing? Since I was
four years old. How often do you go skiing in the
winter? I try and go as much as I can. I used
to go like practically every other weekend until high school.
Then I got a job and I had other things. I still go a few
times a year. When you say that you're an expert
skier, what does that mean? That means I can go down
expert trails.
Where is your favorite vacation spot? I don't know. One of the spots I always loved to go to was the Cape Cod. Any particular place on Cape Cod? Not really. I like the times we went down to Falmouth, but really I like the whole Cape. What do you like about the Cape so much? It's just nice and it's very different from where I live, basically.
What accomplishment are you most proud of in your sport? Let's see. Well the fact that I was able to cut down 10 minutes from my first meet of the season to the last meet of the season.
What is your favorite holiday? I like Thanksgiving the best. Why do you like it the best? It's nice to see all the family and not get caught up in everything with the materials, I mean.
Bacon bits or croutons? That's a tough one.
Croutons, because they're made out of bread and I like bread better
than the bacon.
Would you rather live in a log cabin or downtown? Downtown. More to do. What do you like to do downtown? I like to go look around different places. Go to the library if that's nearby.
What does community service mean to you? It really means putting yourself out to give back. Have you done community service in the past? What's your favorite project? I really like the ones that I've done with kids. A long time ago, I volunteered for an adaptive aquatics program, which I really liked. I think that's where, maybe, the like to work with kids bug bit me.
Do you have any pets? No, but I hope to get a cat someday. What kind of cat? That one I don't know.
What is your favorite movie or movies? I like all types of movies. Let's see, there's "The Sound of Music", "Mary Poppins". I like the "Pink Panther" movies of old. I like some of those old classic movies.
What is your favorite artist or band? Bruce
Springsteen. What about Bruce Springsteen do you like
so much? The music, basically. How he can just
put on a performance without all the special effects and
everything. Have you seen him perform
live? Eight times. When's the last
time you saw him? Actually, I saw him in New York
City in 2009. Do you know that he's going to be in
New York City again this summer? Yes.
Are you going to go again? No, but I know
he's going to be in Boston, I think at the end of March.
Do you plan on seeing him then? Yes.
Favorite pre-game song to get pumped up? I really don't know.
Pepsi or Coke? I'm not a big soda fan, but Pepsi. Why Pepsi? Really, I don't know. I don't know actually. What do you drink instead of soda then? I just drink water. I love cranberry juice or milk.
Favorite Cereal? Let's see. Cheerios. Why do you like Cheerios? I don't know, they taste good. They're nice and crunchy.
What is your favorite city or town? Boston. What do you like about Boston? There's so much to do here. Do you have a favorite place in Boston? I don't know, I've gotten quite fond of the Boston Public Library at Copley. What's your favorite thing to do at the public library? I don't know, I just like to sit around and read books. Have you seen any of the exhibits there? I've taken a little bit of a look around and yes, I've seen some of them.
What is your favorite ice cream? Vanilla.
Why vanilla over all the others? I don't
know, I've never been the type, who likes the spice or
anything. Basically, it tastes good and it's no too
rich. Basically, I just like it. It tastes better.
How many foreign countries have you been to? Canada. One. Where in Canada did you go? I went to Toronto. That was a fun thing. We actually stayed at the hotel at Blue Jays Stadium and watched the Red Sox game from our room. How long ago was this? This was like summer of fifth or sixth grade. Was it still called SkyDome at that time? SkyDome, yes. When we were there, we also went to see Niagara Falls, which was a lot of fun.
If it could rain something other than rain, what would it rain? Snow, so I could go skiing.
Who is your favorite Sesame Street character? That's a tough one. Let's see. Either Ernie or Bert. Why do you like them? Actually, it's not either one of them, particularly. I always liked to see them together. Their interactions were always funny, especially how Ernie drove Bert crazy all the time.
Hats or no hats? Hats. Why hats? I really don't know, but basically, they look cool.
Morning or night? Morning. Why do you like
morning? It looks nice. It's sort of a new
day. I just really like it.
Peanut Butter: Crunchy or creamy? Creamy. Why do you prefer creamy? It just feels so good to have it slide through my mouth. It tastes a lot better in my opinion.
Favorite Season? I like them all for different reasons, but either summer to go swimming or winter to go skiing.
Who's your favorite Family Guy character? I don't really watch Family Guy, so no. What do you like to watch on TV? Seinfeld. Who's your favorite Seinfeld character, then? They're all fun to watch, but Kramer, because he's so unusual.
