Major: My major is going to be human development with a minor in education. What made you choose that for your major? I want to be a teacher in the future, but I want to know more about sociology and the benefit of it. I want to teach either second or third grade, because I love working with little kids. I go back to my elementary school every year to be a teacher's assistant and a camp counselor.
Nickname: This year for soccer I got MIP, I don't know where that came from. For basketball it's Momo and that's just been with me since freshman year of basketball.
What do you like most about Wheelock? I like how it brings all the schools together because there's colleges of the Fenway, so you get to travel and meet new people. It's a great way to meet people around Boston. How does Boston compare to Hartford? It's just a big community where everybody is together. It's like a second home to me. Is there a place in Boston that you like to go to the most? I love going to Government Center where all the shops are, I like to go to Build-a-Bear. I have a stuffed animal in my room. I also like going to Harvard Square because they have Newbury Comics and stuff around there. I like to see what kind of CDs and DVDs that they have.
Where is your favorite place on campus? Probably the campus store. I spend most of my money there to get like candy, ice cream and drinks almost all the time. When I have nights when I have to go to class I like to go to the campus store.
What is your favorite sports team? My favorite sports team would be the Dallas Cowboys for football. Why the Cowboys? When I went to visit my Grandpa in Las Vegas we started watching football and the Dallas Cowboys just became my favorite team over time and I just love watching them every time they play.
Who is your favorite athlete? Ooh, that's a hard one. My top two would have to be David Beckham and Christiano Ronaldo because I just love watching them play soccer. Have you played soccer your entire life? No, this is my first year playing soccer on a team. For someone who just started playing, how is it that two professional soccer players are your favorite athletes? When I was younger I used to watch them on TV all the time because my grandparents also loved soccer and they watched a lot of it. I just grew up watching soccer on TV for most of my life.
What is something that most people don’t know about you? Most people don't know that I'm adopted. Usually people ask, but it's not something you would know right off the bat about me just because I just don't tell anybody about it unless somebody asks.
Where is your favorite vacation spot? I would have to say Las Vegas and that's because I visit my grandparents almost all the time. They take me to the casinos, the museums and the aquariums. I just like seeing the different stuff they have at the casinos and gift shops.
What accomplishment are you most proud of in your sport? I've grown as an athlete over time. I never gave up because I had teammates always backing me up and they told me I could keep doing it. Even though I thought I would never get to their level because they were better players than me, but they always had my back.
What is your favorite holiday? my favorite holiday has to be Christmas. Why is that? It's because I get to see my Mom and I get to be home to see my friends and family, because I don't get to see them that much because I'm in Boston. It's the one time of the year where I get to spend a long holiday with them. I get to see them for a little while before I come back to school.
Bacon bits or croutons? Bacon bits, hands down! I love bacon! Just bacon bits, because they're like the best food that's been made in the world.
Would you rather live in a log cabin or downtown? I think I'd rather live downtown, where there's a little bit more people that I can interact with.
What does community service mean to you? Community service means to me giving back to the community, helping them. Having a place where the kids don't have to be by themselves. It's a place where they can come and enjoy and have fun. They can play different activities. A safe place for them, rather than having to be on the streets where it's dangerous.
Do you have any pets? I do not have any pets, but I do want a dog. I want a beagle, but my Mother said that I have to wait until she's retired until she gets a dog. How long will that be? Maybe after I'm getting done getting my masters and finish paying back all of my loans. Maybe then.
What is your favorite movie or movies? My favorite movies have to be Harry Potter because that actually made me want to read as a child. I just love reading the books and then watching the movies to see how different they are. Is there a favorite book that you have of Harry Potter? I'd have to say Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Why is that your favorite? I can't really say. It's just that the story line in that one is very interesting. It has a lot of wizardry and magic in it.
What is your favorite artist or band? I have to say Brandy. Why Brandy? I grew up on R&B as a kid, so I used to listen to a lot of her music and most of the music I have on my iPod is by her. I just love some of the songs that she has. Are you missing that Brandy hasn't put anything out recently? A little bit. I was kind of shocked when she stopped writing music. Maybe she will, maybe she's just concentrating on other projects right now. You can't rush music, music takes time.
Favorite pre-game song to get pumped up? I have to say, I usually listen to Kanye West, the Graduation Song. I just love that song. I like the beat to it.
Pepsi or Coke? Pepsi. I used to like Coke, but Pepsi has more taste to it.
Favorite Cereal? Cheerios. I like the honey bee commercials. It's nice and sweet. So, is it Honey Nut Cheerios, then? Yeah, Honey Nut Cheerios.
What is your favorite city or town? I have to say Boston. I just love being in this atmosphere in Boston. There's a lot of different places you can go to rather than just staying in one spot.
What is your favorite ice cream? Mint Chocolate Chip. Even though my Mother says it tastes like ice cream. It does not, but I love my chocolate chip. Is there a favorite place that you get it from? Um, the grocery store? I mean, every time I used to go to Vegas to visit my grandparents I always had them buy mint chocolate chip. I used to have my grandpa buy like two cases for me.
How many foreign countries have you been to? I want to say four. I went to Spain because I used to play AAU basketball. I went there twice. The first time we went to Spain, we were in second place and the second time we went to Spain we won first place. What other countries have you been to? I've been to England, Italy, Portugal, I believe and France.
If it could rain something other than rain, what would it rain? That's a difficult one. I'd have to say churros, because they're really sweet and really cinnamonny.
Who is your favorite Sesame Street character? I'd have to say Big Bird. Why Big Bird? I used to watch Sesame Street a lot and I just like wanted to be on Sesame Street because Big Bird is like always that cuddly bird that you always want to have with you. I have a Big Bird at home, actually, that my Mom gave me when I was little.
Hats or no hats? I'd have to say hats. I don't wear them that often, but if I go to a Boston Red Sox game or if I just like feel like wearing a hat that day then I'll wear it.
Morning or night? I prefer night. I'm really not a morning person. With night, I have the whole day to myself kind of. At night, I get to chill out before I have to go to practice or something.
Peanut Butter: Crunchy or creamy? Creamy is always better. I'll just get a spoon and just eat peanut better by itself.
Favorite Season? I have to say Spring, because I love seeing the flowers grow like roses and tulips. I like taking pictures of them once they're in full bloom.
What's your favorite TV show to watch? I'd have to say the Fresh Prince of Bel Air when it's on. That's because I love Will Smith. I just love watching that show.
